Classified School Employees of the Year
Six CSEA members named California Classified School Employees of the Year
After two years of hosting virtual events, the California Department of Education logged offline and held an in-person luncheon full of fanfare to celebrate the 2021 California Classified School Employees of the Year. The occasion honored outstanding classified school employees in nine different categories, six of whom were CSEA members.

“Our outstanding classified employees have made heroic efforts to step up and support California’s students so they can continue to learn,” State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond stated in a press release when the winners were publicized. “These dedicated employees make sure kids have healthy meals, safe transportation on school buses, and someone to talk to during difficult and unexpected changes—helping keep them safe and supported in their lives and in their education.”
