Troy Johnson and David Miller Win CalPERS Board Elections

by Aaron Latham

Troy Johnson and David Miller have both won their elections to the CalPERS Board of Administration, securing strong voices for classified employees and retirees on one of the most important boards overseeing our retirement security.

This victory was made possible by the dedication of CSEA members across California. Hundreds of volunteers, especially retired members, spent countless hours phone banking, encouraging fellow CalPERS members to cast their ballots. Their tireless work, combined with the efforts of CSEA staff, made all the difference.

Association President Adam Weinberger praised the collective effort, noting:

“Your steady voices and commitment moved voters and carried us over the finish line. I am also deeply grateful to our staff across the state for their tireless work planning, organizing, and supporting this campaign from start to finish.”

Weinberger also recognized the extraordinary effort it takes to run for an office like CalPERS Board of Administration, offering special thanks to Johnson for his dedication and preparation.

Troy shared his appreciation directly with members, saying:

“I am deeply honored by the trust that my fellow CalPERS members and retirees have placed in me. I will never stop fighting to protect the hard-earned pension and benefits they deserve. I am especially grateful to the many volunteers who helped my campaign. Without their dedication, this victory would not have been possible. I look forward to working with my fellow trustees to ensure that CalPERS continues to be a model for retirement security.”

David Miller’s re-election further strengthens the voice of working people and retirees on the CalPERS Board. With their combined leadership, CSEA members can be confident that our retirement system will be protected and managed responsibly for generations to come.
