President's message
CSEA siblings,
This is a pivotal time of year where we will set the tone for what is to come not just for our union, but for our state and nation.
While we gear up for what will be a crucial and groundbreaking election on November 5, your union sibling leaders are preparing to gather for this year’s Super Session, which is where the Board of Directors, regional representatives, committee members and retiree leaders gather for deep dives into CSEA policy, strategy and planning.
Training and growth are at the core of the Board’s priorities and this opportunity for member leaders to receive learning opportunities that will better help them serve you is paramount to our success.
As a democratic and member-governed organization, ensuring member leaders have the skills and knowledge to lead their peers is the foundation for creating a healthy union environment from top to bottom. Our time at Super Session is just the beginning and I'm thrilled to dive into what it means to be a member leader with all our attendees.
There are many ways for members to become leaders, and I encourage anyone interested to see all the opportunities at CSEA.com/Volunteer.
Speaking of democracy, Election Day is just weeks away and I can already feel the anticipation building for will be a historic day for our nation.
We will cast ballots for the presidency, seats in the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, legislative seats across the state, and school boards and elected offices in our communities.
Rarely is there an election with such widespread implications as we will see next month. Remember, it only takes one anti-worker politician to threaten all we have built.
As we approach the finish line, I encourage everyone to volunteer as we make a final push for CSEA-endorsed candidates. Elections are won at the grassroots level, and your efforts phone banking from home, knocking on doors in your communities, and spreading the word about labor-friendly candidates makes a difference.
You can also find all CSEA-endorsed candidates and ballot measures at CSEA.com/VoterGuide.
We have the opportunity to protect our hard-fought victories and pave the way for new ones. Let’s seize this moment on Election Day and forge a labor-friendly future for union siblings across California and the nation.
