Paraeducators are critical to the success of students every year, and their support is even more important for the upcoming school year as districts return to full in-person learning. They will be essential to helping students recover any lost learning opportunities they experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing additional classroom support and one-on-one attention.

CSEA is here to help new paras get up to speed and returning paras expand their knowledge and skills in meeting students’ needs through a brand-new professional development opportunity: the Paraeducator Accelerated Training Hub (PATH). This program includes more than 40 on-demand trainings that can be conveniently accessed at any time from August 2, 2021 through April 2022, and new content will be added throughout the year.

PATH is developed with both new and seasoned paraeducators in mind. PATH includes a foundational training series called “The Essential Para Series,” in addition to more specialized topics, perfect for ongoing development.

Enrollment is open to all paraeducators for a one-time fee of $150, which may be eligible for reimbursement by their district utilizing the Educator Effectiveness Block Grant.

Training topics cover:

  • The Essential Para Series
  • Student Instruction
  • Student Wellness
  • SPED topics: Autism, social and emotional wellness, ADHD
  • Technology tutorials
  • New content added regularly
