CSEA supports bills to curb gun violence

On May 24, there was yet another deadly school shooting that took the lives of 19 children and two educators in an Uvalde, Texas elementary school. This was among one of the many back-to-back massacres that have transpired recently, including at a Buffalo, New York supermarket, a medical facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a Taiwanese church in Orange County, Calif....

State invests record $170 billion in public education

The state budget signed on June 30 by Governor Newsom was a great victory for public education, students and CSEA members.

CSEA-sponsored bills advancing in Sacramento

Major progress on CSEA’s sponsored bills has been achieved in this year’s legislative session. After passing through their respective Assembly and Senate committees, two CSEA-sponsored bills will be included in the newly-enacted state budget, with the remaining bills now up for final deliberations.
