President's message

CSEA siblings,

Each year in May, we pause to recognize and celebrate the heart of our public schools—classified school employees. This year, Classified School Employee Week will be held May 18–24, and our theme says it all: Trusted, Inclusive, United.

These are more than just words. They are a reflection of who we are and how we serve. As classified employees, we are the trusted adults our students turn to. We create inclusive environments where everyone—regardless of background, language, or ability—is welcomed and supported. And we stand united, not just with one another, but with the broader education community, ensuring that schools run smoothly and every student has what they need to thrive.

This week is a time for our communities, school districts, and elected leaders to recognize what we’ve always known—that the work we do matters. From transportation and food services to technology, maintenance, and direct classroom support, we are the backbone of California’s public schools. We may work behind the scenes, but our impact is front and center in the lives of millions of students.

Take this week to celebrate—and to be celebrated. You’ve earned it. You’ve earned the respect of your schools, your coworkers, and your community. And as your Association President, I could not be prouder to stand alongside you.

In unity and gratitude,

Adam Weinberger, Association President
