Celebrating Member Heroes During Have-a-Heart Month

Celebrating member heroes during February’s Have-a-Heart Month
While February is often rainy in The Golden State, it is also a month filled with the warmth of celebration. From Valentine's Day and National Send a Card Day to No One Eats Alone Day, and from lively cultural events to moments of reverence such as Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras and Black History Month, February offers countless opportunities to connect and reflect. It is a month that honors families, inherited and chosen, helping each other, and giving to those in need.
During this month, CSEA focuses on the tradition of fundraising for the Dorothy Bjork Assistance Fund, which provides emergency and humanitarian assistance to members in need. One of our most essential benefits, and one that taps heavily into the core value of empowerment, is the wide array of events and trainings that CSEA offers.
At its heart, CSEA is about looking out for one another. The stories below honor the heartfelt ways our CSEA siblings supported others during emergencies over the past year.
Myke Lucero, Ruby Shaw, Regino Gonzalez, Ryan Branson, Raymundo Bueno, Yvette Flores, Alex Cruz, Vince Gonzales, and Silvia Clark are just a few of CSEA’s Heroes.
CSEA members care about their families, volunteer to make their communities a better place, and work every day in schools to make a difference in the lives of the students they serve.
Celebrate kind actions during Have-a-Heart Month.
If you know a CSEA member who is going above and beyond to make a difference in your chapter or local community, share their story here to possibly feature them in an upcoming article.
